Oakbrook student wins calendar contest

A love of fishing has helped Oakbrook Elementary student Jillian Young become one of 12 county students to have her work posted in the Macomb County Environmental Education Calendar.
A self-portrait of third grader fishing is the August entry to this year's calendar, sponsored by the Macomb County Public Works Office.
Jillian was one of more than 1,250 Macomb County students to enter the competition.
In addition to being featured in the calendar, Jillian has also won a fishing pole, Project F.I.S.H. tack box, rock climbing at REI, and fishing lessons courtesy of Trout Unlimited.
Students will be honored at a February 20 ceremony.
