Eisenhower High School's 2010-2011 student publications have earned honors as being among the best in nation.
Eisenhower's yearbook, Espirit de Corps, earned "Silver Medalist Status" from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) and is one of two Michigan student publications to be named a finalist in the Crown Awards program.
The student newspaper, The Eagle's Eye, earned a Gold Medalist status by the CSPA's judges of national journalism experts.
The CSPA program is one of the nation's premier competitions and involves a professional critique of how the publications meet a set of national standards that represent the best practices in student media.
Judges look at content, design, photography, writing and copy editing.
Eisenhower's yearbook award places it among 170 of the nation's top rated publications at both the high school and college level and qualifies the work to receive either a Silver or Gold Crown from CSPA. Crown awards are scheduled to be announced in March.
Erica Kincannon is the teacher advisor for Eisenhower’s publications. Student editors for the 2010 yearbook were Ashley Allison, Caitlin Juszczyk, and Maria Harper. Student editors for the newspaper were Alyssa Keller and Brittany Schoel.
