Seven Utica Community School high school students have received scholarships to help them further develop their leadership skills.

The students received scholarships to attend the Michigan Association of Student Councils and Honor Societies’ Summer Leadership Camp this week at Albion College, courtesy of the SET SEG Foundation.

Earning scholarships were:

  • Amanda Amir – UCS Virtual Academy
  • Ava Belanger – Eisenhower
  • Makayla Belanger – Eisenhower
  • Greta Kaminske – Stevenson
  • Hailey Nichols – Eisenhower
  • Miranda Smith – Eisenhower
  • Mallory Waligora – Eisenhower

At camp, students from different Michigan high schools with varying demographics joined together to improve their schools, communities and themselves.

Working with their peers and experienced leadership educators, students further developed skills including communication, organization, and goal setting.
