Important Things To Know!

  • Student Plans for the 2025 – 2026 School Year

If a student is moving or planning to not return to Davis Junior High next year, please send an email to Mrs. Gipson at Patrice.Gipson@uticak12.org or contact her at school (586.797.2700).

This is sometimes overlooked by parents with the activities of the end of a school year. If we know ahead of time. this can help determine our numbers and staffing needs as well as letting us know to be on the lookout for student record request forms that are sent by the new school.

We will also need to collect your child’s UCS issued laptop device and we want to be prepared to facilitate this at the end of the school year. Please let us know so we can partner with you for a smooth transition for you and your child.

Finally, if you have already moved, but are still attending Davis, please let Mrs. Gipson know as well as she will need to update address information in PowerSchool.

  • STUDENT IDs  The UCS Policy is for ALL students to have their Student ID visible, from the time they enter the building, during passing times, during lunch times, and when requesting a hall pass.  It is very important that students understand and respect this policy. When a student is seen without an ID, they are sent to the office to get another one*.

There is no charge for the first ID and lanyard.  Replacement costs for lost or damaged ID's are $5 and Davis lanyards are $1/3 each.  *Fees will be added to your PowerSchool accounts if students do not pay the day they are reissued another.  Students are welcome to buy their own lanyard if they choose.

  • Chargers  Every student receives a device charger to use ONLY with the school laptop deployed to them. The chargers are numbered and signed out to each incoming student.  This is the only charger that is to be used with the UCS device.  Please do not use any other charger with the device.

If a student damages or misplaces the charger, a $38 replacement fee will be applied to the PowerSchool account. Students SHOULD NOT use each other's chargers.  This is a big reason chargers go missing.  The student that loans out a charger and does not retrieve it, will have to pay the replacement cost if it goes missing.  Chargers are not covered by Device Insurance.

To avoid losing a charger while at school, students should charge the laptops each night to be ready for the following school day.
